# Air ambulance called after person rescued from steep bank near Plymouth

A person has been rescued after falling down a bank on a footpath near Plymouth.

Paramedics were called to the Stray Park area of Yealmpton yesterday Sunday, 22 February. 

Flying medics from the [Devon Air Ambulance](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/devon-air-ambulance/) were also sent to the scene alongside two first responders.

One person was taken to [Derriford Hospital](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/derriford-hospital/). A spokesperson for the [South Western Ambulance Service](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/south-western-ambulance-service/) said:

> "We were called at 14:42hrs on Sunday 22 February to an incident in [Yealmpton](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/yealmpton/). 

> "We sent one double-crewed land ambulance, an air ambulance, and two first responders to the scene. 

> "We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to [Derriford Hospital](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/derriford-hospital/).”
