# Man seriously injured after car leaves road in Plymouth crash

A man has been seriously injured after a crash in Plymouth yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Plymouth Road, opposite the Marsh Mills Premier Inn, at 2.25pm on Sunday (19 April).

A silver Nissan Navara left the road in the eastbound direction and crashed into a sign and through the hedgerow.

Specialist flying medics from the [Devon Air Ambulance](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/devon-air-ambulance/) were scrambled to the scene and landed in the middle of the road. 

Police, firefighters and land paramedics also attended, along with two land ambulances.

The seriously injured man was taken to [Derriford Hospital](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/derriford-hospital/) by land ambulance, where he remains at the time of reporting.

[Devon and Cornwall Police](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/devon-and-cornwall-police/) are appealing for witnesses and anyone with relevant information or dash cam footage to come forward.
