A woman has sadly died after a large emergency response involving police, paramedics, and the Devon Air Ambulance in the Efford area of Plymouth this morning.
Emergency services were called at around 8.30am following a report of a concern for welfare for a woman at Efford Cemetery, on Efford Road.
Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed the woman, who was in her 70s, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene despite the best efforts of members of the public and emergency services. Her next of kin have been informed.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Plymouth Plus:
"We were called at around 8.30am on Friday 1 August following a report of a concern for welfare for a woman in Plymouth.
"The woman in her 70s had become unwell at Efford Cemetery, on Efford Road.
"Ambulance also attended.
"Despite the best efforts of members of the public and the emergency services, the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
"Her next of kin have been informed.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious."
