Police seized a Range Rover after armed police stopped a vehicle outside of City College Plymouth.
Armed officers located an 'extendable baton' inside the vehicle and a 'quantity of cocaine' from a property following the incident.
Officers initially arrested a man at the scene before de-arresting them. Instead, the suspect will be interviewed as a voluntary attender in due course.
The Range Rover was taken away from the scene by recovery and police enquiries are ongoing.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:
"A vehicle was stopped, and an extendable baton was found within the vehicle. A quantity of cocaine was also recovered from a property.
"A suspect was initially arrested, before being de-arrested. He is due to be interviewed as a voluntary attender in due course. Enquiries are ongoing."
