Armed officers were deployed to a Plymouth street after police received a report of a man with a chainsaw in a back garden.
Police were called at around 11.55am on Saturday, 21 February, following concerns about a male at a property on Hamoaze Avenue.
Armed police were seen in the area with their firearms drawn, but the outcome turned out to be far less dramatic than anyone could ever expected.
Police have confirmed that the man was in fact using a hedge trimmer to clear a path and that no offences had been identified.
The unexpected twist did not end there with the call out still leading to an arrest. A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:
"While officers were at the property, a woman in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug and a failure to appear court warrant.
"She will face no further action for the drugs arrest."
