A person’s body was sadly found in a river by kayakers in Devon this afternoon.
The shocking discovery was made at Newbridge on the River Dart.
Emergency services rushed to the scene after kayakers retrieved the body to the shoreline.
Devon Air Ambulance, the South Western Ambulance Service Hazardous Area Response Team, and Dartmoor Search & Rescue teams attended the incident.
It has not been confirmed whether the matter is being treated as suspicious at this time. The person's gender and age details have also not yet been confirmed.
Devon and Cornwall Police have been contacted for comment.
