Body found on Plymouth Hoe sparks major emergency response

Police have launched an investigation after the body of a person was found at Plymouth Hoe early this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 5.20am today, Wednesday 11 June. Officers, paramedics and other responders arrived at the popular waterfront location, where the body was discovered.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Plymouth Plus:

"We were called at 5.20am today to The Hoe in Plymouth after the body of a person was found.
"This not currently believed to be suspicious, and enquiries are ongoing to locate and inform next of kin.
"Emergency services remain at the scene."

The identity of the person has not yet been released, and the exact circumstances surrounding the death remain unclear. Police are expected to provide further updates once next of kin have been notified.
