A body of a woman has been found on Plymouth Hoe, prompting a significant emergency response in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Emergency services were called to the popular waterfront location at around 5.20am on Wednesday 11 June, where the body of a woman was discovered near Smeaton's Tower.
A police cordon was put in place as officers, paramedics and other responders attended the scene, drawing attention from early morning walkers and tourists in the area.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Plymouth Plus:
"The body of a woman was located on The Hoe in Plymouth yesterday morning, Wednesday 11 June.
"Formal identification is yet to take place but the family of a woman who had been reported missing have been informed of this development.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
Multiple police vehicles remained at the scene for several hours as investigators carried out enquiries. A coroners ambulance and tent were also seen near the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the woman’s death have not been made public, and her identity has not yet been formally confirmed.
Locals expressed sadness following the discovery, with many offering condolences on social media as news of the incident spread throughout the city.
