A candlelit vigil walk will take place in Plymouth this evening as people across the city come together to remember nurse and lecturer Claire Chick.
The walk will begin at 6.30pm at Smeaton’s Tower, before participants walk along the Hoe and around the Barbican.
The event has been organised to honour Claire’s life while also raising awareness of domestic violence and showing support for nurses and healthcare workers.

Alongside the vigil, a fundraising campaign set up in Claire’s memory has now raised more than £6,000, reaching over 30% of its £20,000 target.
The Claire Chick Nursing Fund, established by the University of Plymouth, aims to support student nurses facing hardship. You can donate to the fund here.
Tomorrow will mark one year since Claire was killed, a heartbreaking anniversary for her family, friends and the city, as they continue to remember her life.
