Drugs arrest after man crashes into police car in dramatic Plymouth pursuit

A police pursuit ended at a busy retail park in Plymouth this afternoon after a man failed to stop for officers.

The dramatic chase came to an end after the vehicle crashed into a police car in the car park of Friary Retail Park on Exeter Street.

Officers arrested the man, aged in his 50s, on suspicion of driving whilst disqualified, being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug and possession of a Class A drug.

He remains in police custody at this time. A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:

"A man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of driving whilst disqualified, being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug and possession of a Class A drug.
"The arrest follows a failure to stop and subsequent collision with a police car at a retail park off Exeter Street, Plymouth, on the afternoon of Tuesday 2 December.
"The suspect remains in police custody at this time."
