# Emergency rescue launched after man falls on rocks

Emergency rescue teams were tasked to Plymouth Hoe after a man fell on rocks this afternoon (24 August).

​At around 2.15pm [HM Coastguard](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/hm-coastguard/) sent Coastguard Rescue Teams alongside the [RNLI](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/rnli/) to the scene.

The man was injured as a result of his fall and crew from the inshore lifeboat (ILB) came ashore to assist with casualty care.

One double-crewed land ambulance attended the scene on behalf of the [South Western Ambulance Service](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/south-western-ambulance-service/).

Coastguard Rescue Teams from both Plymouth and Yealm assisted with the transfer of the casualty to the ambulance, which took him to [Derriford Hospital](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/derriford-hospital/).
