Emergency services are responding to an incident on the Plymouth Barbican this afternoon, right in the middle of the city’s busy Pirates Weekend event.

Multiple eyewitnesses have confirmed the presence of at least five police cars, one police van, an ambulance, and several HM Coastguard vehicles rushing to the area on blue lights.

The Plymouth Barbican is a popular and historic part of the city, known for its harbourside pubs, shops, and high footfall, particularly on weekends like this.

At this stage, the nature of the incident remains unconfirmed. Devon and Cornwall Police, South Western Ambulance Service, and HM Coastguard are currently at the scene.
