Fire crews rushed to Amberley House Care Home in Plympton after smoke was seen coming from the building’s laundry room.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service attended Amberley House Care Home on the Ridgeway in Plympton just after 8 pm on Saturday, 17 May.
On arrival, firefighters entered the care home wearing breathing apparatus to locate the source of the smoke.
The electrics in the laundry room were isolated and crews used positive pressure ventilation fans to remove smoke from the premises. All rooms in the property were checked using a gas monitor.
Amberley House is a residential care home that provides accommodation and support for elderly residents.

Four fire appliances and an aerial ladder platform were sent to the scene. A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service told Plymouth Plus:
"We were called at 8.05pm after smoke was seen in the laundry room and sent four appliances and an aerial ladder platform.
"Firefighters in breathing apparatus detected the smoke and isolated the electrics in the laundry room.
"They cleared the property of smoke with fans and checked all the rooms with a gas monitor."
There were no injuries reported and all residents were accounted for.
