A fire broke out on board a Royal Navy vessel at HMNB Devonport in Plymouth this afternoon.
At least four fire engines, along with several fire officer cars, were witnessed rushing into the naval base on blue lights.
The Royal Navy has now confirmed that the incident involved a small fire on board one of its vessels.
A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service declined to comment on the incident.
