# Girl, 14, injured after being ‘hit by van’ as man arrested

A 14-year-old girl was rushed to hospital after allegedly being hit by a van during rush hour on Tuesday (15 September).

Police said that the collision happened on Wolseley Road at around 4.35pm and involved the teenage pedestrian and a white Peugeot Expert van.

The girl was taken to [Derriford Hospital](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/derriford-hospital/) following the collision where her injuries have since been deemed non-life-threatening or life-changing.

A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of drug driving, driving with eyesight which did not comply with requirements and using a motor vehicle in a condition likely to cause injury. He has been released under investigation.

Police have thanked members of the public for their patience after Wolseley Road was closed while officers carried out an investigation at the scene.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage or other information which could assist their investigation to come forward.

It is one of two serious collisions involving children on Wolseley Road this week.
