A woman in her 30s was sadly found dead at a home on Ordnance Street in Plymouth on Friday (17 October).
Police were called to Devonport after neighbours heard a toddler constantly crying inside the property. Emergency services attended and the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.
There was a large emergency response through Friday evening with police officers, detectives, forensics and paramedics attending the scene.
Two ambulances, multiple police units and a rapid response vehicle attended. It is understood the woman’s young child was inside the home when neighbours raised the alarm after hearing constant crying coming from the property.
Emergency services ensured the child was safe and arrangements were made for appropriate care. Police have confirmed the death is not believed to be suspicious.
A file has been prepared for His Majesty's Coroner, which is the routine process for sudden deaths. A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Plymouth Plus:
"Police were called on Friday 17 October to reports of a concern of welfare of a woman at a property on Ordnance Street, Plymouth.
"Emergency services attended the address where the woman, who was in her 30s, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. Next of kin are aware.
"The death is not believed to be suspicious and a file has been prepared for the coroner."
