The police helicopter was deployed as part of efforts to locate a high risk missing person in Plymouth tonight.
Local units alongside a dog unit were also deployed as part of the search efforts in the St Budeaux area of Plymouth.
Despite inaccurate reporting elsewhere, only one police helicopter was deployed to this incident.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Plymouth Plus:
"The force helicopter was deployed as part of efforts to locate a missing person.
"The person was located and taken into the care of healthcare professionals."
According to a local resident, four police vehicles were in the area for at least a couple of hours before a police helicopter was seen hovering low overhead.
The South Western Ambulance Service sent a land ambulance and an operational officer to the scene.
