# Heroic emergency crews rush to save young girl from Plymouth bridge

Emergency services in Plymouth worked together last night to save a young girl in urgent need after she was spotted on a bridge. 

[Police](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/devon-and-cornwall-police/), [paramedics](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/south-western-ambulance-service/) and[ firefighters](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/devon-and-somerset-fire-and-rescue-service/) were called to Saltash Road at around 9.25pm on Wednesday evening following reports of concern for her welfare. 

Within minutes, specially trained teams were at the scene, working swiftly and sensitively to ensure her safety.

By 9.45pm the situation had thankfully been safely resolved and the girl was left in the care of the ambulance service. She is now safe and being supported.

A spokesperson for [Devon and Cornwall Police](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/devon-and-cornwall-police/) told Plymouth Plus:

> "We received reports of concern for the welfare of a teenaged girl on a footbridge on Saltash Road, Plymouth at around 9.25pm on Wednesday 1 October. 

> "Police, paramedics and the fire service attended the scene. 

> "The incident was safely resolved at around 9.45pm and the girl was left in the care of the ambulance service."
