A serious multi-vehicle collision caused major disruption on one of Plymouth’s busiest city centre routes on Tuesday afternoon.
The crash, involving at least five vehicles, occurred shortly after 1 PM on the westbound side of the A374 Exeter Street, between Cattedown Roundabout and Bretonside. Traffic came to a standstill as emergency services responded.
Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that minor injuries were reported. One driver was reported to court for driving without a full licence.
The road remained closed for around two hours while officers and recovery crews cleared the scene and reopened the route.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:
"Officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving five vehicles on Exeter Street, Plymouth, at around 12.55pm on Tuesday, 13 May.
"Emergency services attended. Minor injuries were reported.
"One driver was reported to court for driving while holding only a provisional licence. The road was blocked temporarily but later reopened.”
