# ‘Lots of police’ near popular park amid ‘serious assault’

A large police presence has been seen near a popular park in Plymouth this afternoon following reports of a serious assault.

Plymouth Plus understands the incident happened on Molesworth Road earlier this morning (20 July).

The [Devon Air Ambulance](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/devon-air-ambulance/) landed at nearby Victoria Park as police and paramedics responded to the incident.

A patient was taken to [Derriford Hospital](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/derriford-hospital/) by land ambulance following the incident.
