A major emergency response was launched in the heart of Plymouth this evening after a woman was in danger at height near the University of Plymouth.
Police and fire crews were called to Cobourg Street tonight following concerns for the welfare of a woman. Cobourg Street was closed to traffic during the incident as emergency crews cordoned off the area.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service sent two fire engines and an aerial ladder platform to the scene near the main university campus, not far from Drake Circus and the Charles Cross roundabout.
Thankfully the woman was rescued by emergency services and didn't sustain any injuries. The road reopened by 10pm.
