A major emergency service response has been witnessed outside Charles Cross police station in this morning.
The Hazardous Area Response Team, known as HART, was seen entering the police station car park.
This is a specialist ambulance service team trained to deal with the most dangerous and complex incidents.
Alongside HART, a number of police vehicles, including armed response units, were seen leaving the station in convoy.
The South Western Ambulance Service has declined to comment on the deployment of its resources and referred us to the police.
Devon and Cornwall Police have been contacted for comment.
