# Man and woman arrested after 'disturbance and assault' in Plymouth

Two people have been arrested after a large number of police and ambulances were seen responding to an incident in Plymouth.

Emergency services were called to Barton Avenue in [Keyham](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/keyham/) following reports of a ‘disturbance and assault’.

Police attended and arrested two people, a man and woman, in connection with the incident.

A spokesperson for [Devon and Cornwall Police](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/devon-and-cornwall-police/) told Plymouth Plus:

> "The female was arrested on suspicion of assault; she remains in police custody. 

> "The man was arrested on suspicion of assault criminal damage and possession of Class B drugs. He has been released on bail."
