A man has been arrested on suspicion of various offences after a collision completely closed a road in Plymouth last night.
Police and paramedics were called to Whitsoncross Lane in Tamerton Foliot following reports that a Hyundai i20 had crashed into a lamppost and another vehicle.
The driver, a man aged in his 40s, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs and possession of a controlled substance.
He was checked over by paramedics and taken to hospital by ambulance with what police say were believed to be minor injuries.
The vehicle was recovered and road subsequently reopened by the police.
