Man dies after huge emergency response in Plymouth 'concern for welfare' incident

A man has sadly died after a large emergency response on Adelaide Street in the Stonehouse area of Plymouth yesterday afternoon, 28 August 2025.

The Devon Air Ambulance and two land ambulances attended but despite their best efforts the man, aged in his 60s was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Numerous police cars arrived a short while later and an investigation was carried out at the scene, prior to the arrival of a coroners ambulance.

Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious and that a file will be prepared for His Majesty's Coroner.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Plymouth Plus:

"We were called at around 2.15pm on Thursday 28 August to a property at Adelaide Street, Plymouth, following a concern for welfare for a man.
"The ambulance service also attended.
"Sadly, despite the best efforts of the emergency services, a man in his 60s was pronounced deceased at the scene
"The death is not being treated as suspicious. The man's next of kin have been informed."
