Police, paramedics, firefighters and flying medics from the Devon Air Ambulance rushed to the scene.
It is believed that a fire occurred at the scene, which was extinguished before the arrival of emergency services, police have told Plymouth Plus.
A man, aged in his 80s, was sadly found dead inside the property, and his next of kin have been informed.
