# Man hospitalised after falling out of hotel window

A man has been rushed to hospital after falling from a hotel window on Friday evening (7 August).

Emergency services were called at around 6pm following reports that a man had fallen from a window at the Grosvenor Hotel on [Plymouth Hoe](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/plymouth-hoe/).

Significant emergency resources were sent to the scene, including [Cornwall Air Ambulance,](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/cornwall-air-ambulance/) the fire service and police.

The casualty was extracted with the assistance of a specialist technical rescue team from [Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/devon-and-somerset-fire-and-rescue-service/).

Plymouth [Coastguard](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/hm-coastguard/) Rescue Team also attended the scene to establish a helicopter landing site to enable the air ambulance to take off safely.

Paramedics from the [South Western Ambulance Service](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/south-western-ambulance-service/) conveyed the man to Derriford Hospital by land ambulance.
