Man in his 60s suffers facial injuries after being punched outside Plymouth bar

Police have issued a CCTV appeal after a man in his 60s was assaulted outside a popular bar in Plymouth.

Officers have released an image of a man they want to identify, saying he may be able to assist with enquiries into the incident outside Bar Rakuda on the Barbican.

The victim was drinking with a friend outside Bar Rakuda on Quay Road when the incident occurred.

His friend turned to look at another man for an unknown reason, prompting the victim to also turn around. He was then punched in the face by the man they had looked at.

Devon and Cornwall Police say the man in his 60s was knocked onto his back and suffered facial injuries.

The incident happened on Sunday 8 December 2025. Anyone who recognises the man in the image, or who has information that could help, is asked to contact police online or by calling 101, quoting crime reference 50250314813.

UPDATE: Police have identified the man they wanted to speak with in connection with this incident.
