Man jailed after pleading guilty over disorder at Plymouth Tesco

A man has been jailed just days after ‘food was thrown at a child’ and a ‘woman punched’ during a violent disorder at Tesco.

Daniel Robertson aged 46 of no fixed abode, Plymouth has been jailed after pleading guilty to two counts of assault and a racially aggravated public order offence linked to a disturbance at the Tesco Express on New George Street.

Robertson appeared at Plymouth Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 8 November and pleaded guilty to all charges.

Magistrates imposed an immediate prison sentence of 16 weeks.

Officers were called to the store in the city centre after reports of a disturbance. Following an area search Robertson was located and arrested.

The case moved quickly from arrest to charge and court where Robertson entered guilty pleas at the first opportunity.
