Man rushed to hospital after being stabbed in the head in Plymouth

A man was taken to hospital after a stabbing in Plymouth late last night, 22 May.

Emergency services rushed to Sherwell Arcade just after 10.25pm following reports of a stabbing in the heart of the city. The victim suffered a suspected stab wound to the head.

The attack has shocked the local area, with many residents taking to social media overnight to express concern. Police have since confirmed that there is no wider threat to the community.

Sherwell Arcade, known for its bars and restaurants near the Plymouth University, saw a significant police presence as officers erected a cordon and dealt with the incident.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Plymouth Plus:

"We were called at around 10.25pm on Thursday 22 May following a report of an assault in Sherwell Arcade, Plymouth.
"It was reported a man was assaulted and suffered a suspected stab wound to the head.
"The victim was taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
"It is believed the victim and suspect are known to each other and there is no wider threat to the community.
"Enquiries to locate the suspect are ongoing."
