Emergency services responded to a serious incident at Bovisand Beach in Plymouth on the afternoon of Monday, 19 May 2025.
The Devon Air Ambulance, HM Coastguard, paramedics, and a specialist Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) were all called to the scene after reports of a person injured in a fall.
The alarm was raised at 2:09pm, prompting a large-scale emergency operation involving multiple agencies.
What Happened at Bovisand Beach?
According to HM Coastguard, a casualty had sustained injuries following a fall on the beach.
Coastguard Rescue Teams from Plymouth and Yealm were deployed to assist, while the Devon Air Ambulance landed nearby to provide immediate medical support.
Response from Ambulance Service
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust told Plymouth Plus:
“We were called at 14:03 on Monday 19 May to an incident in Plymstock.
"We sent one double-crewed land ambulance, an air ambulance, an operations officer, and the hazardous area response team to the scene.
One patient was conveyed by land ambulance to Derriford Hospital.”
Air Ambulance Departed
