A missing man has been found dead on a Devon beach following a major emergency response.
Emergency services launched a search on Dawlish Warren Beach last night, 10 March, for a missing man from Exeter.
HM Coastguard and their Search and Rescue Helicopter 924 from Newquay attended the incident, with the RNLI carrying out searches at sea.
The South Western Ambulance Service also attended, alongside its Hazardous Area Response Team, Devon Air Ambulance and a BASICS doctor.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:
"Police searching for a missing man from Exeter have located the body of a man in the Dawlish area.
"Emergency services located the body last night [10 March] during searches.
"Formal identification is yet to be carried out but officers believe the person to be 44-year-old Robin Cort who was reported missing. His family have been informed of this development.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
