A low flying military helicopter has sparked concern across Plymouth this afternoon after circling the city for several hours with no confirmed explanation.
The aircraft, identified by Plymouth Plus as a Lynx AgustaWestland 159 operated by the UK military has been flying persistent loops over Plympton and Plymstock since around 1.30pm.
Residents began contacting Plymouth Plus shortly after the helicopter first appeared, reporting loud rotor noise and unusually low altitude.
People have described homes shaking, windows vibrating and pets becoming distressed as the aircraft repeatedly passed overhead.
