A man in his 20s is fighting for his life after being hit by a moped that was untaxed, uninsured, and had no MOT at a busy city centre pedestrian crossing.
The serious crash happened at around 5.55pm on Wednesday 2 July on Exeter Street in Plymouth and involved a grey Piaggio scooter.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and closed Exeter Street for around seven hours while forensic collision investigators examined the area.

The pedestrian, who was crossing at the pedestrian crossing, sustained critical injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital by paramedics. Unusually police have not provided any update on his current condition.
Plymouth Plus can reveal that the scooter was not taxed, insured, or MOT certified at the time of the collision.
Devon and Cornwall Police said a 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police has said:
"Roads policing officers are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision with a scooter in Plymouth.
"The man aged in his 20s was taken to Derriford Hospital in a critical condition following the incident at a crossing in Exeter Street on Wednesday 2 July.
"It happened at around 5.55pm and involved a grey Piaggio scooter.
"A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.
"Police and paramedics attended the scene and Exeter Street was closed for around seven hours to allow forensic collision investigators to examine the scene.
