Person dies after ‘falling from building’ in Plymouth

A major emergency response unfolded late yesterday evening, leading to a large part of the Plymouth Barbican being cordoned off.

At approximately 11.50pm, a significant cordon was put in place, with Breton Side closed in both directions.

Dozens of emergency vehicles blocked the road, with police, paramedics and firefighters responding to the serious incident.

The incident occurred on Moon Street, with a forensic tent and police tape quickly put up shortly after. Throughout the evening, scenes of crime officers arrived at the scene wearing white forensic suits.

An eyewitness told Plymouth Plus that they saw a person fall from a building and emergency services carry out lifesaving attempts at the scene.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, a person has sadly died as a result of this incident.

The age and gender of the person have not yet been confirmed. Devon and Cornwall Police have been contacted for comment.
