A dramatic recovery mission is now being planned at Sutton Harbour after a well-known Plymouth fishing vessel sank overnight.

The vessel, called St Anne’s, has left its owner, local businessman Neal Stoneman, devastated as plans are urgently being drawn up for its recovery.

Speaking exclusively to Plymouth Plus this evening, Mr Stoneman, who also owns the historic 19th-century St Anne’s House, said:

"At around 8pm, I got a call out of the blue telling me our boat had sunk. We’re absolutely heartbroken.
"Staff at the Sutton Harbour lock said they couldn’t reach me as they couldn’t locate my contact details in time.
"It’s gutting to think this might have been preventable. I’m now meeting with a specialist dive salvage team to plan the recovery."
