A man has been arrested after reports a vehicle was 'shot at' on Laira Bridge in Plymouth during the Friday morning rush hour.
Police were seen in the car park near Go Outdoors on Laira Bridge searching a van, with around seven officers on scene including a police dog unit.
Police were called just after 8 am today 13 June to Cattewater Road following a report that a vehicle had been shot at by a suspected firearm from a passing car.
The incident is believed to have taken place on Laira Bridge and the suspect vehicle then left the scene.
The occupants of the targeted vehicle did not report any injuries.
Firearms officers were deployed to the area and carried out a search. The suspect car was located and stopped by police.

An air weapon pellet was recovered and has been seized. A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Plymouth Plus:
"We were called at 8am today to Cattewater Road, Plymouth, following a report that a vehicle had been shot at by a suspected firearm from a passing vehicle.
"The incident occurred on Laira Bridge and the suspect car then left the area.
"The occupants of the vehicle did not suspect any injuries.
"Firearms units deployed to the area and carried out a search, where they located and stopped the suspect vehicle.
"An air weapon pellet has been located and seized by police officers. They remain in the area carrying out searches and enquiries.
"A 26-year-old man from Plymouth has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and criminal damage. He remains in police custody.
"If you saw anything or have any information which may assist our investigation, please contact police on 101 quoting log 113 of 13 June."
Officers remain in the area and are appealing for witnesses or information.
