Plymouth man accused of drink driving named and charged

A Plymouth man has been named and charged after officers stopped a car late at night in the city centre.

Police pulled over a vehicle on Newport Street at around 11.40pm on Saturday 13 September after it was seen travelling at speed along Union Street.

Michael Mullen, 34, of Waverley Road, Plymouth, has been charged with drink driving. He has been bailed to appear before Plymouth Magistrates’ Court on 30 September 2025.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Plymouth Plus:

"Officers stopped a car on Newport Street in Plymouth around 11.40pm on Saturday 13 September after it was seen travelling at speed in Union Street.
"A man was arrested.
"Michael Mullen, aged 34, of Waverley Road, Plymouth, has been charged with drink driving.
"He has been bailed to appear before Plymouth Magistrates’ Court on 30 September."
