Plymouth remembers father-of-two Shane Sweet on what would have been his 37th birthday

Shane Sweet, a much-loved father-of-two from Plymouth, is being remembered today by his family and friends on what would have been his 37th birthday.

The much-loved Plymouth father-of-two, whose life was cut short in November last year, is being remembered with deep love and sorrow by his family and friends as they mark his birthday without him for the first time.

His family, have told Plymouth Plus that they will be releasing a full statement soon, choosing to honour his memory in their own words.

Shane’s death, which shocked the city, led to a murder trial earlier this month.

On 10 June, a jury at Plymouth Crown Court found 20-year-old Tahla Redwan not guilty of murder, after he fatally stabbed Shane on Cambridge Road.

Shane Sweet, is lovingly remembered by all who knew him as a devoted dad, a loyal friend, and someone who will never be forgotten.

For Shane’s loved ones, today is not about the trial but about remembering the man they knew as a dad, a brother, a son, and a friend.

Those who knew Shane have described him as fiercely loyal and someone who always tried to be there for others.

In November 2024, emergency services were called to Cambridge Road where Shane was sadly found with fatal injuries. His death sparked a major police investigation and one person was charged with murder.

But for those closest to him, the headlines and court arguments can never define the loss. We send our deepest condolences to all those grieving Shane’s loss.
