A motorcyclist in his 50s has been seriously injured after a collision with a pickup truck on Mannamead Road in Plymouth yesterday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the busy stretch of road near the Esso garage at around 12.40pm on Thursday 23 October.
Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed the crash involved a black Ford Ranger and a black Kawasaki motorcycle. The rider suffered serious injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital for treatment.
A man in his 30s from the Plymouth area was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs and causing serious injury by careless driving. He has since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

The road was closed for several hours while specialist officers investigated the scene, before reopening fully shortly before 4pm.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage to help establish the full circumstances of the collision.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:
"We are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a pick-up truck in Plymouth.
"Emergency services were called to Mannamead Road, near to the Esso garage, at around 12.40pm on Thursday 23 October.
"The incident involved a black Ford Ranger and a black Kawasaki motorcycle.
"The rider of the motorcycle, a man aged in his 50s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
"A man aged in his 30s from the Plymouth area has been arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs and causing serious injury by careless driving. He has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
"Police, the fire service, paramedics and the air ambulance all attended the scene.
"The road was closed while an investigation took place and reopened fully shortly before 4pm.
"Anyone who witnessed the collision, or has any relevant CCTV or dash-cam footage, is asked to contact police via our website or by calling 101, quoting log 297 of 23/10/25."
