Police called to Plymouth altercation as fight spills into busy Stonehouse street

A man was left with facial injuries after a fight broke out on a Plymouth street during the Wednesday morning rush hour.

The incident took place in Stonehouse at around 8.30am on 19 June, when two men became involved in a heated confrontation on Manor Street.

The altercation, which began as a verbal exchange, quickly escalated into violence. It then continued into King Street, drawing the attention of several members of the public.

Police were called to the scene as the situation unfolded. Officers located both men on King Street, which connects to the heart of the Stonehouse area and is known for its traffic and footfall during peak hours.

According to police, one of the men suffered minor facial injuries. Both men are believed to be known to each other.

No arrests were made, and the injured party declined to pursue any formal complaint. However, the incident did prompt a temporary police presence in the area as officers assessed the scene and ensured that tensions had eased.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Plymouth Plus:

"Police were called at 8.35am, 19 June, following reports of an altercation in Manor Street, Stonehouse.
"Two men were involved in a verbal altercation in the street.
"One man was then assaulted, causing minor facial injuries.
"The incident continued into King Street where officers located the pair.
"The men in their 30s are believed known to each other.
"The assault victim did not wish to pursue a complaint against the other man."
