Police confirm age and gender of person who died on busy Plymouth road

A man aged in his 40s has died after a 'suspected medical episode' on Laira Bridge Road, police have confirmed.

The South Western Ambulance Service sent two land ambulances, the Devon Air Ambulance, and an operations officer to the scene on Friday evening.

Despite the best efforts of members of the public and then the emergency services, a local man in his 40s was pronounced deceased at the scene.

His next of kin has been informed and the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Plymouth Plus:

"We were called at 8pm on Friday 28 November following a report of a man having suffered a suspected medical episode on Laira Bridge Road, Plymouth.
"The ambulance service also attended and despite the best efforts of members of the public, and then the emergency services, a local man in his 40s was pronounced deceased at the scene.
"His next of kin has been informed.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious."
