# Police ‘growing increasingly concerned’ for man last seen near Plymouth hospital

Police say they are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of a missing man who was last seen near Derriford Hospital.

Gary Arkless, 58, was last seen at around 6am on Saturday (5 September).

Gary is described as a white man with short grey hair and was last seen wearing green trousers and a grey coat.

Anyone who has seen Gary or knows of his whereabouts is asked to call the police on 999 immediately, quoting log number 218 of 5 September.

A spokesperson for [Devon and Cornwall Police](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/devon-and-cornwall-police/) said:

"Police are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of Gary Arkless last seen near [Derriford Hospital](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/derriford-hospital/) in Plymouth around 6am on Saturday the 5th of September 2026.  
  
"Gary is described as a 58 year old white male, with short grey hair, who was last seen wearing green trousers and a grey coat.  
  
"Anyone who has seen Gary or knows of his whereabouts is asked to call the police on 999/101 quoting log number 218 of 05/09/26."
