# Police intercept ‘stolen’ moped being driven ‘recklessly’ with two on board

Police officers successfully intercepted a 'stolen' moped which was being driven ‘recklessly’ across parts of Plymouth last night (4 September).

The motorcycle was seen speeding through [Plymouth City Centre](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/plymouth-city-centre/) and even mounting the pavement at times.

Throughout the incident two people were on board the 125cc moped - a white Aprilia Mojito.

Plymouth Plus understands that the moped had been stolen and was being driven using cloned registration plates.

Thankfully, [Devon and Cornwall Police](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/devon-and-cornwall-police/) caught up with the moped during the early hours of Saturday morning (5 September).

As a result, the moped was brought to a safe stop at the Carlton Terrace junction in [Weston Mill](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/weston-mill/).

Armed police, a dog unit and [Ministry of Defence Police](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/ministry-of-defence/) officers assisted local officers with the stop.

A police investigation into the incident remains ongoing at the time of reporting.
