Police issue update after armed officers swarm Plymouth street

Armed police flooded Curtis Street in Plymouth after reports a man had been threatened last night (21 October).

A large emergency response was seen in the Devonport area, with at least six police vehicles and two ambulances seen near Lyner House and the junction with Cumberland Street.

Police say the man involved reported being approached and threatened by an unknown male on Cumberland Street before making his way to Curtis Street.

He was found with a cut to his chin and taken to Derriford Hospital as a precaution.  A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Plymouth Plus:

"We were called by the ambulance service to Curtis Street, Plymouth, shortly after 9.15pm on Tuesday 21 October following a report a man had been assaulted.
"Officers attended and spoke to the man who said he had been approached and threatened by an unknown male on Cumberland Street.

"He was found to have sustained a cut to the chin and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
