# Police update after helicopter circled over Plymouth last night

A police helicopter was deployed over Plymouth last night as officers carried out searches and door to door enquiries in the Roborough area.

Residents reported seeing a large police presence in and around Hessary Drive, where cordons were put in place during the incident.

[Devon and Cornwall Police](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/devon-and-cornwall-police/) have now confirmed officers were responding to a concern for the welfare of an individual. A spokesperson for the force said:

> “We received information at approximately 8.20pm on Wednesday 4th March which gave us concern for the welfare of an individual.

> "We conducted searches of the local woodland and carried out house to house enquiries. 

> "We managed to locate the individual safe and well. We are satisfied that the initial report was made with good intent.”
