# Man dies after falling from building in Plymouth as police issue update

Police have today confirmed that a man in his 60s has died after falling from a building on Moon Street in Plymouth late on Saturday (11 October).

Emergency services were called at around 11.40pm and a road closure was put in place while [police](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/devon-and-cornwall-police/), [paramedics](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/south-western-ambulance-service/) and [firefighters](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/devon-and-somerset-fire-and-rescue-service/) responded.

An eyewitness told Plymouth Plus at the scene that they saw the man [fall from a building and emergency services carry out lifesaving attempts](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/person-dies-after-falling-from-building-in-plymouth/).

A forensic tent was erected and scenes of crime officers attended during the night while the area remained cordoned off.

Police have since confirmed that a man from Plymouth aged in his 60s was pronounced deceased at the scene. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for His Majesty's Coroner.

 A spokesperson for [Devon and Cornwall Police](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/devon-and-cornwall-police/) told Plymouth Plus:

> "We were called at 11.40pm on Saturday 11 October following a report of a concern for welfare for a man on Moon Street, Plymouth.

> "It was reported he had fallen from a building. 

> "The ambulance service also attended and a road closure was put in place.

> "Despite the efforts of the emergency services the man – in his 60s and from Plymouth - was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

> "The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner."
