# Schools ‘locked down’ as police hunt man seen with sword in Torpoint

Schools were placed into lockdown this afternoon after police responded to reports of a man seen carrying a small sword. 

The man was seen walking along Trevol Road in [Torpoint](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/torpoint/) carrying what appeared to be a small sword. 

Officers remain in the area tonight and the search for the man is ongoing.
