Second teenager arrested in Plymouth murder probe into death of Drew Perham

A second teenager has been arrested in Plymouth as detectives continue investigating the death of Drew Perham.

Poilce say a murder enquiry was launched after the body of the 24-year-old, from Plymouth, was found in Millbay Marina on Sunday, January 25.

A 19-year-old man from Plymouth was arrested on Sunday, January 25, on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

Police have today arrested a second man, aged 19, from Exmouth, who has been arrested on suspicion of murder and has been taken into police custody.

Drew was reported missing on Saturday, January 24, after he failed to return home from a night out on Friday.

Formal identification is yet to take place, however, police have confirmed Drew’s family has been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for information, particularly from anyone who may have been in the Millbay area between 1am and 5am on Saturday, January 24.

Detective Inspector Neil Blanchard from the Major Crime Investigation Team said:

“The investigation into Drew’s death remains ongoing with a number of enquiries taking place. As a result the community will continue to see an increased police presence for the coming days.
“I continue to ask people to avoid speculating about this case – this is an ongoing investigation to establish the full circumstances of this incident and online speculation in particular is not helpful.
“If you have information which may assist our investigation, please get in touch and report it. We are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have been in the Millbay area in the specified times.”

Detectives have set up a Major Incident Public Portal (MIPP), which allows members of the public to directly send large files such as doorbell, CCTV and dashcam footage, which could assist in the investigation.
