# Serious emergency response after man becomes critically unwell in seaside village

The Cornwall Air Ambulance landed in the Cornish seaside village of Seaton this afternoon after a man became critically unwell.

Alongside the flying medics, two ambulances, an operations officer and a tri-service safety officer also responded to the emergency.

The critically unwell man was flown to [Derriford Hospital](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/derriford-hospital/). A spokesperson for the [South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT)](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/south-western-ambulance-service/) told Plymouth Plus: 

> “We were called at 13:04hrs on Friday 10 October to a medical incident near Seaton. 

> "We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, an air ambulance, and an operations officer to the scene. 

> "We conveyed one patient by air ambulance to Derriford Hospital.”
